2013 Hyundai Santa Fe: Might be a Global Best-seller?

Hyundai has recently provided a number of statements that indirectly tells the buying public as well as the automotive community that the company is expecting that the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe to boost the global sales of the company for this year. These statements came a few weeks after the formal introduction of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe at the 2012 New York Auto show.

According to Hyundai, the company is quite confident that the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe would emerge as a global best seller for this year since their vehicle developers and engineers were able to incorporate a lot of exciting and useful features on the vehicle. In fact, Hyundai has released two versions of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and this might have been the company’s way of ensuring that the model would be able to meet the diverse needs of car buyers around the world.

The first version of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is the five-seat Sport model. This model is still mounted on the same wheelbase that the previous version has used and this measures about 106.3 inches. Unlike the wheelbase, the overall length of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport was stretched by half an inch, the width shrunk by about 0.4 inch, and the height has decreased by 1.8 inches. This also flaunts the company’s “fluidic sculpture” that has made this SUV look sleeker and less blocky.

The Sport Model will be offered with two engine options which includes the standard 2.4-liter direct-injected 4-cylinder engine that is capable of producing up to 190 horsepower and the optional 264 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Both of these engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Given its exterior features and estimated performance, Hyundai expects that the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport would attract a lot of buyers who belong to the younger generation worldwide thereby boosting the company’s sales for 2012.

The second version of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was basically larger and longer compared to the Sport model. This was probably one of the company’s ways of providing a larger Santa Fe for buyers who are after for SUVs with larger interior space. To increase the vehicle’s dimension Hyundai has stretched its wheelbase and expanded the vehicle’s length. In addition to this, the company’s vehicle developers and designers have revised the Santa Fe’s body design to expand the legroom on the second-row seat and insert the third-row seats. Due to this, the number of maximum passengers that the larger Santa could accommodate was increased.

In order to cope with the increase in size and probably the additional weight of the larger Santa Fe, Hyundai has used a 3.3-liter direct-injected V-6 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission to propel this version of the SUV. Aside from that, the vehicle would also be offered in front-wheel drive versions.

Given all of the features that are found on the two versions of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai feels optimistic that this particular model would serve as one of the sales boosters of the company’s sales for this year. In addition to this, Hyundai is also hoping that the demand for this SUV in the US would also increase allowing them to meet the sales forecast and target that they have set for 2012.
