A lot of car experts and automotive journalists have recently confirmed that the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan still remains as the cheapest car in America. This generalization came after Nissan announced the starting prices of all the models included on the 2013 Nissan Versa lineup and a quick comparison of the base model’s price against those of the other models that are also considered affordable.
Based on the information provided by Nissan, the base model of the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan will be sold at a starting price of $12,880 including the destination charge of $790. Compared to the previous year’s version, the price of the base model of the Versa has increased by about $1,110. But despite of this increase, the latter could still be considered as the cheapest car model in the American market.
Although the base model of the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan was recently recognized as the cheapest car in America, the starting price of the top-of –the-line model of the Versa which is $17,380 including the destination charge of $790 still remains higher compared to some of its closest competitors such as the 2013 Hyundai Accent, 2013 Ford Fiesta, 2013 Honda Fit, and the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic.
The 2013 Hyundai Accent is currently sold at a starting price of $15,320 including the destination charge of $775. The price of the 2013 Honda Fit starts at $16,115 including the destination charge of $790. The 2013 Ford Fiesta is sold at a starting price of $13,995 including the destination charge of $795. The price of the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic starts at $14,995 including the destination charge of $795.
Given the prices provided earlier, it is quite obvious that the price difference between the base model and the top-of-the-line model of the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan has tremendously increased. As of the present, the price difference is about $4500 and this would most likely increase in the coming years.
But aside from the increase in the prices of the models included on the 2013 Nissan Versa lineup, Nissan has also increased the destination charge that the car maker is charging. For the 2013 model, Nissan is charging $790 per unit of the Versa and this is $10 higher than the shipping charger placed on the previous year’s models.
