The winners of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year award are set to be announced at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. Since the schedule of the annual car show is fast approaching, the semifinalist list is almost complete and the vehicle models included on this are expected to obtain the major awards that are up for grabs.
Based on the information obtained from reliable sources in the automotive industry, popular car models such as the 2013 Honda Accord, 2013 Ford Escape and the 2013 Dodge Dart are among the strong contenders for the 2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year. These models have been competing to win the most coveted award since getting this award would most likely boost the individual sales output of the models mentioned earlier.
Aside from those that were mentioned above, other domestic car models such as the 2013 Cadillac ATS, Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, and the Chevrolet Malibu have also secured their own spots for this year’s North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year and each of these is loaded with a lot of excellent features that would most likely impress the evaluators assigned to assess their strong and weak points in order to determine if any of them are worthy of the recognition.
The reliable sources have also revealed that there are four Japanese car models that were able to make it to this year’s list. This includes the 2013 Nissan Altima, Toyota Avalon, Subaru BRZ, and the Scion FR-S. Since these models were already included on the list, there is a great possibility that any of these would probably obtain the award or probably any of the citations that will be given at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The 2013 BMW 3 Series on the other hand was the only German car that was included on the list. Unfortunately, the list did not include any model produced by the Korean car makers.
For the 2013 North American Truck/Utility of the Year category, three domestic truck models were able to make it to the list and these are the 2013 Ford C-Max, 2013 Ram 1500, and the 2013 Ford Escape. The short-list also includes the four Japanese truck models such as the 2013 Mazda CX-5, 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, and the 2013 Acura RDX.
Aside from that, the 2013 Audi Allroad and the 2013 BMW X1 were also included on the list and both of these are representing the German car makers. Finally, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was able to make it to this year’s list and bear the flag for the Korean car makers.
