General Motors has recently experienced two different sales scenarios which involves the Buick Verano and the larger Buick Regal.
Based on the latest information obtained from the US car maker, the demand for the Buick Verano has significantly increased while that of the Regal has slide down by about 37 percent in the first nine months of the current year. Surprisingly, the sales decline of the Regal could possibly be blamed on the stronger demand for the Verano since most of the buyers at present prefer to buy the latter instead of the former.
When asked as to why the current tends to prevail, General Motors has pointed out that this is probably because the Verano is sold at a cheaper price than the Regal. In addition to this, the Verano also provides an overall performance which is quite the same as what its bigger sibling thus. Although there is an existing difference in the running performance of the two models, this is still considered minor and barely noticeable.
Some of the officials from General Motors has also cleared out that they are not worried with the alleged effect of the Verano’s increasing sales on the demand for the Regal since they consider the competition among the vehicle models that they are selling as an ordinary phenomenon. A good example of this was the competition that existed between the Chevrolet Cruze and the Sonic.
Instead of getting worried, the company actually feels impressed since the demand for the Verano still continues to increase and this allows the vehicle to establish a wider lead against the other non-GM models in the market and somehow bring more consumers into the car maker’s showrooms.
This condition is also regarded as favorable for the company since this increases the exposure of GM-made vehicles to consumers and encourages them to purchase other Buick cars or any vehicle from General Motors.
Due to the impressive sales output of the Buick Verano in the past few months of this year, General Motors has decided to offer a new turbocharged model in the lineup and this is set to be released next month.
The upcoming turbocharged version of the Verano is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which is capable of producing a maximum power output of up to 250 horsepower and 234 lb.-ft. of torque. With this engine the Verano Turbo has easily beat the turbocharged Regal’s 0 to 60 miles per hour acceleration output by half a second.
