Cadillac Reveals the Starting Price of the 2013 ATS Sedan

Cadillac has finally revealed the starting price of the 2013 ATS sedan. This sedan which is fondly called as the “small Cadillac” was specifically produced by Cadillac to compete with other entry-level luxury sedan models that are considered as the segment’s heavyweights. Due to this, Cadillac has placed the latest starting price of the 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan at par with some of its German and Japanese competitors.

Based on the announcement provided by Cadillac, the base model of the 2013 ATS sedan will be sold at a starting price of $33,990 including the destination charge. This price is about $1,805 lower than the BMW 328i which is considered as the ATS’ closest rival. The base model of the ATS is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine generates up to 200 horsepower and produces a maximum of 188 lb.-ft. of torque. This is actually considered as one of the least potent engines in its class.

The ATS sedan which is equipped with the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has a starting price of $35,795. There was a slight increase in price since the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is capable of producing up to 270 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The increase in price might have been triggered by the 70 horsepower and 72 lb.-ft. of torque difference. This engine is mated to a standard 6-speed automatic transmission and an optional 6-speed manual transmission. This version of the ATS is also offered with an all-wheel drive system.

The top spec model of the 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan on the other hand got the highest pricing of all the existing trims for this year. This version is sold at a starting price of $42,090 including the destination fees. This model is propelled by a larger 3.6-liter V-6 engine mated to a standard 6-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The engine used in the top spec ATS produces an impressive amount of horsepower that could go as high as 320. This is also capable of generating up to 267 lb.-ft. of torque.

Unfortunately, Cadillac has failed to disclose the information about the standard equipments that each model would provide. In addition to this, the fuel economy ratings of all the trims were not yet revealed. Due to this, most car experts are expecting that Cadillac would surely provide a detailed summary about these features of the 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan before the vehicle goes on sale this summer.
