General Motors revealed that Chevrolet has posted a very impressive global sales record in the first three months of 2013 and this achievement marks the brand’s sales boom for 10-straight quarters now.
Based on the information obtained from General Motors, Chevrolet’s dealerships were able to deliver about 1.18 million units of vehicles on the first quarter of 2013. The US carmaker has also revealed that the strong demand for Chevrolet cars was basically brought about by the brand’s efforts to improve the features of the vehicle that its dealerships are currently selling.
Aside from that, Chevrolet was also able to post an impressive sales record for 10-straight quarters now because a lot of buyers have decided to purchase the Chevrolet Cruze which is a compact car model that the brand has been selling since 2009.
The stronger demand for this compact car in the first quarter of 2013 was also pointed as one of the significant reasons why Chevrolet dealerships have successfully sold more than 2 million units of the Cruze and this is still expected to increase before the current year ends given that Chevrolet continues to tweak the vehicle’s features to become more competitive.
General Motors has also stressed that Chevrolet’s impressive global sales boost was not solely brought about by the increase in demand for Chevy cars in the US automobile market but also in other parts of the globe. Based on the company’s statistics, Chevy’s deliveries in the US alone have improved by about 4.8 percent to 469,000 units.
