Nissan Reveals the Starting Price of the 2014 Versa Note

Nissan finally revealed the pricing information of the 2014 Versa Note along with the prices of the other models that are included in this year’s Versa lineup.

The 2014 Nissan Versa Note is considered as the replacement for the 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback that was previously sold at a starting price of $15,450 including the shipping charge of $780.

Based on the information provided by the Japanese carmaker, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note will be sold at a starting price of $14,880 including the destination charge of $790. When compared to the cost of purchasing the model it replaced, the price of the 2014 Nissan Versa Note reflects a $570 decrease in price. When asked to comment about the $570 price slash, Nissan opted not to provide the possible reasons.

But despite of the decrease in price compared to the previous model it replaced, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note still remains as a more expensive option particularly when compared to the 2014 Nissan Versa sedan. The price of the 2014 Nissan Versa sedan starts at $12,880 including the shipping charge of $790.

Although he Versa Note is more expensive than the sedan variant, the price of the former still undercuts the cost of purchasing any of its two closest rivals which is the 2013 Honda Fit and the 2013 Ford Fiesta hatchback.

The price of the 2013 Honda Fit starts at $16,215 including the destination charge of $790. The price of the 2013 Ford Fiesta hatchback on the other hand starts at $15,395 including the shipping charge of $795. Thus, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note could be considered as a good option for buyers who are interested in buying this type of vehicle but only have a limited budget.

Aside from announcing the price of the 2014 Nissan Versa Note, the Japanese carmaker has also confirmed that the top-of-the-line version of the Versa Note which is the SV will be offered for sale with a starting price of $16,880. This price also includes the destination charge of the SV.

Finally, Nissan confirmed that all of the existing versions of the 2014 Nissan Versa Note will be powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission on the base Versa Note 1.6 S while the other trims would get the continuously variable transmission.
