The list of the possible candidates for the most-coveted “2013 Car of the Year” award was recently revealed by a jury of 58 automotive experts that were tasked to represent the 22 countries from Europe.
Based on the information obtained from a reliable source, the juries have selected the candidates for the 2013 Car of the Year award by looking at the exterior and interior design, safety technologies provided, and the performance of every vehicle in the market. In addition to this, the committee has also started using the “technical innovation” as one of most important factors in selecting the vehicle models that would be considered as the candidates for the said award.
The committee has also stressed out that they have simplified the selection process for the candidates by imposing an additional qualification which states that only the car models that were launched to the public 12 months before the competition started would be considered eligible. Due to this qualification, the number of candidates was narrowed down to 35. This will further be narrowed down to 7 finalists by January next year. After selecting the 7 finalists, the juries will then select the winner of the 2013 Car of the Year award.
Since this competition does not divide the candidates into categories, it is quite obvious that this will have a single winner regardless of vehicle’s size, engine, and body type. Some of the popular car models in the US that are now included on the list of potential candidates are the following.
