Kia Motors has recently presented an interesting vehicle at the 2012 Chicago auto show and this was fondly called by the company as the 2013 Kia Track’ster concept.
As shown on the Chicago auto show, the 2013 Kia Track’ster concept’s layout and some of its characteristics are quite similar to the company’s successful SUV model which is the Kia Soul. This observation is actually true. This is because the Kia Track’ster is based on the platform that was also used on the Kia Soul.
The only difference with the Track’ster’s width is wider compared to the Soul hatchback by five inches. In addition to this, the wheelbase used on the Track’ster is also an inch longer that what the Soul is using.
In terms of the interior design, the Track’ster is quite upscale. It is equipped with racing seats, door panels, and steering wheel covered with suede. In addition to this, the vehicle’s interior areas are trimmed with Granite Gray and Inferno Orange. These trims further enhanced the Track’ster’s interior appearance making this look sporty and at the same time trendy.
Aside from the attractive appearance, 2013 Kia Track’ster was also designed as a two-seater with three doors. This simply means that this vehicle offers a limited amount of interior space. However, most of the car experts who were able to take a closer look at the 2013 Kia Track’ster that was displayed at the 2012 Chicago auto show considered this layout to be appropriate since the vehicle was designed to look like a race car.
The race car image that Kia wants to be associated with the Track’ster was also highlighted by the features that are found on the vehicle’s exterior. The two booster-rocket exhausts and the tail lights that were installed on the vehicle’s glass at the back made the Track’ster look more powerful. The layout on the car’s rear was also complimented by its frontal appearance. The oversized LED fog lights and the headlights made the Track’ster look intimidating.
Under the hood, the 2013 Kia Track’ster is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power output of up to 250 horsepower. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The transmission transfers all of the power generated by the turbocharged engine into the car’s four wheels since the Track’ster is using an all-wheel drive system.
